Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week, plus overtime as required

Salary: Up to £35,913 per annum, DOE

We are recruiting for a Testing Engineer to join a growing engineering business based in the Romsey area. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer with F-Gas certification to join a company specialising in innovative temperature control and cooling solutions. The business works with customers across a wide range of industries and offers a varied, hands-on role within its testing and warehouse operation.

As a Testing Engineer, you will be responsible for the functional testing, inspection and preparation of refrigeration and chiller equipment prior to it being released for hire.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Testing refrigeration circuits and identifying abnormal operating conditions.
  • Carrying out full functional testing of hire chillers.
  • Completing electrical safety checks and visual inspections.
  • Recording test results, faults, repairs and outstanding issues accurately.
  • Prioritising workload effectively to maximise productivity within the test bay.
  • Escalating major faults to the Warehouse Manager.
  • Providing technical guidance and support to warehouse staff and other engineers where required.
  • Ensuring all equipment meets the required quality and safety standards before being released for hire.
  • Maintaining a clean, safe and organised working environment.

The successful candidate will have:

  • F-Gas certification - essential.
  • Previous experience in a relevant engineering, refrigeration or testing environment.
  • Good attention to detail and pride in the quality of your work.
  • Strong time management and organisational skills.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • The ability to remain calm and productive when working to tight deadlines.
  • A willingness to learn, develop and take on new technical skills.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Outlook.
  • A willingness to work overtime when required.
  • The ability to undertake the physical requirements of the role, including heavy lifting and standing/walking for extended periods.
  • A forklift licence and previous forklift experience would be advantageous but is not essential.
