Location: Christchurch: Office-based during probation, then hybrid thereafter

Hours: Full-time, Shift patterns provided around 5 weeks in advance

  • Monday-Friday, with start times between 8.00am and 9.45am
  • Finish times between 4.30pm and 6.15pm
  • Approximately 1 in 6 Saturdays, with a day off in lieu
  • Occasional bank holiday working

About the Role:

Dynamite Recruitment is looking for Claims Handlers/ Customer Services to join an established organisation with excellent training and career development opportunities.

You'll be helping customers with their insurance claims, providing support when they may be dealing with unexpected or stressful situations. Your day-to-day role will include:

  • Handling customer queries by phone and email
  • Assessing and investigating claims
  • Checking policy cover
  • Gathering information and supporting documentation
  • Providing clear and helpful information to customers
  • Negotiating and settling claims where appropriate
  • Managing a high volume of work while maintaining accuracy
  • Providing a professional and empathetic service

What We're Looking For:

You'll ideally have:

  • Previous customer service experience
  • Experience in a call centre, claims or insurance environment is useful but not essential
  • Good telephone and written communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Good computer skills
  • The ability to stay organised and calm under pressure
  • Good numerical ability
  • A friendly and empathetic approach
  • The ability to manage multiple tasks and work to deadlines

Training:

The role starts on 9 November 2026. You will complete a 7-week full-time training programme, Monday to Friday, 9.00am-5.30pm. You must be available to attend the full 7-week training programme. Full training and support will be provided, so you don't need previous claims experience to be considered.
