The Role:

Are you passionate about supporting people and helping communities thrive? We're looking for an Assistant Independent Living Partner to join a dedicated housing team, providing support across independent living schemes in the Bordon area. This is a rewarding opportunity where you'll play a key role in helping residents maintain their independence while ensuring schemes remain safe, welcoming and well managed. Working both independently and alongside the Independent Living Partner, you'll become the first point of contact for residents, providing housing management support, carrying out wellbeing contacts, responding to customer enquiries and helping to create vibrant communities where people feel secure and connected. No two days are the same! One day you could be supporting a resident with a tenancy enquiry, the next carrying out health and safety inspections, coordinating repairs or organising community engagement activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the first point of contact for residents, dealing with tenancy, leasehold and housing management enquiries.
  • Support residents to maintain their independence through regular wellbeing contacts and referrals to appropriate internal and external support services.
  • Assist with lettings, customer inductions, viewings and void management.
  • Support the management of tenancy-related matters, including anti-social behaviour, tenancy sustainment and customer advice.
  • Carry out weekly and monthly health and safety inspections, fire safety checks and compliance monitoring across schemes.
  • Manage and test social alarm systems, responding appropriately to emergency alarm activations.
  • Assess residents' wellbeing and identify changing support needs through ongoing risk assessments and welfare monitoring.
  • Build positive relationships with residents, families, partner agencies and external organisations.
  • Encourage resident involvement through community events and engagement initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate records using internal IT systems and ensure all documentation is completed to a high standard.
  • Provide cover across other independent living schemes as required.

About You:

You'll be someone who genuinely enjoys helping others and is passionate about delivering excellent customer service. You'll be confident working independently, able to manage a varied workload and comfortable building relationships with people from all walks of life. Ideally you'll have experience within housing, customer service, community support, social care or a similar people-focused environment. You'll also have:

  • Experience delivering customer-focused services.
  • An understanding of housing management or transferable experience within housing, care or community services.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to handle sensitive conversations with empathy and professionalism.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise a busy workload.
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Experience carrying out risk assessments or supporting vulnerable customers (desirable).
  • An understanding of safeguarding, equality and health & safety principles.

Essential Requirements:

  • Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle for business use.
  • Willingness to travel across multiple schemes when required.
  • Ability to work independently in a lone-working environment.
  • Flexibility to provide occasional out-of-hours emergency support if required.
  • Enhanced DBS check.
