Project Accountant in Portsmouth

Job Description

Dynamite Recruitment is currently recruiting for a Project Accountant to join an established team based in Portsmouth on a 6-month FTC. This is a varied role suited to an experienced finance professional with a strong background in financial reporting, forecasting and management accounts, alongside an interest in improving financial processes and controls.

The Project Accountant Role:

• Supporting accurate and timely financial reporting across the business
• Preparing and improving management accounts, forecasting and budgeting information
• Supporting cash flow, treasury and VAT reporting
• Reviewing and improving financial processes and controls
• Identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, accuracy and financial reporting
• Supporting external audits and wider finance projects
• Working closely with senior stakeholders to provide meaningful financial insight
• Supporting the implementation and improvement of finance systems and processes

The Ideal Project Accountant Candidate:

• Previous experience in a similar role
• Qualified ACCA/CIMA accountant or equivalent
• Strong technical accounting and financial reporting experience
• Advanced Excel skills with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• A process-driven approach with a genuine interest in continuous improvement
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships with stakeholders at all levels
• Comfortable working independently, taking ownership and using initiative
