We are recruiting for a Testing Engineer to join a growing engineering business based in the Romsey area. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer with F-Gas certification to join a company specialising in innovative temperature control and cooling solutions. The business works with customers across a wide range of industries and offers a varied, hands-on role within its testing and warehouse operation. As a Testing Engineer, you will be responsible for the functional testing, inspection and preparation of refrigeration and chiller equipment prior to it being released for hire. Your responsibilities will include:
- Testing refrigeration circuits and identifying abnormal operating conditions.
- Carrying out full functional testing of hire chillers.
- Completing electrical safety checks and visual inspections.
- Recording test results, faults, repairs and outstanding issues accurately.
- Prioritising workload effectively to maximise productivity within the test bay.
- Escalating major faults to the Warehouse Manager.
- Providing technical guidance and support to warehouse staff and other engineers where required.
- Ensuring all equipment meets the required quality and safety standards before being released for hire.
- Maintaining a clean, safe and organised working environment.
The successful candidate will have:
- F-Gas certification - essential.
- Previous experience in a relevant engineering, refrigeration or testing environment.
- Good attention to detail and pride in the quality of your work.
- Strong time management and organisational skills.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- The ability to remain calm and productive when working to tight deadlines.
- A willingness to learn, develop and take on new technical skills.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Outlook.
- A willingness to work overtime when required.
- The ability to undertake the physical requirements of the role, including heavy lifting and standing/walking for extended periods.
- A forklift licence and previous forklift experience would be advantageous but is not essential.
