Senior Account Executive – Medical Communications

Position: Senior Account Executive

Location: London (hybrid – 2 days in a London office)

Contract Type: Permanent

Salary: Up to £36k

Start: ASAP

This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic and fast-growing boutique medical communications agency in London! As an experienced member of the client services team, you'll have the flexibility to shape your role around your strengths while playing a pivotal part in driving the continued success and growth of the division.

Managing various projects, you will take pride in delivering outstanding medical communications projects (including advisory board, symposia, congress activities, training materials, webinars, etc) while staying highly organised and proactive to meet client needs. Driven to develop and exceed expectations across all accounts, you will serve as a mentor and role model to the junior team, setting the standard for quality and client service excellence.

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients, providing regular updates on ongoing activities and addressing queries promptly and appropriately
  • Coordinate with internal teams – including medical, creative, and digital – to ensure projects progress according to established timelines and deadlines
  • Supervise and support the management of project materials such as mailings, agendas, trackers, and other client-related documentation
  • Assist junior team members in maintaining organised, up-to-date files to ensure accurate information is always accessible
  • Monitor client activities and collaborate with the team to deliver exceptional client service
  • Prepare project budgets, including supplier negotiations, to maintain cost efficiency
  • Conduct research and gather background information to support project execution and proposal development
  • Contribute to new business proposals and pitches, offering creative ideas and presenting where relevant
  • Adapt to evolving business needs by taking on additional responsibilities as required
  • Commit to meeting and exceeding the expectations of both internal colleagues and external clients
  • Maintain a strong understanding of client budgets, recoverability, and the distinction between fees and costs
  • Build and nurture client relationships, earning a reputation as a reliable and trusted team member
  • Foster a collaborative team environment, establishing mutual trust and respect among colleagues
  • Communicate confidently and effectively with individuals at all levels, both within and outside the organisation
  • Support junior colleagues by offering guidance and delegating tasks appropriately
  • Prioritise workloads – both personal and team-related, ensuring critical tasks receive the necessary attention
  • Demonstrate a proactive, action-oriented approach, maintaining energy and focus in a fast-paced environment
  • Ensure all deadlines are met, managing upwards and downwards as needed to maintain project momentum
  • Organise information and files efficiently, ensuring resources are easily accessible
  • Accurately complete and submit timesheets in a timely manner
  • Offer support to junior team members in completing administrative tasks
  • Remain calm under pressure, responding to feedback constructively and handling stress with composure
  • Exhibit maturity and adaptability, staying focused even when unexpected challenges arise

Requirements:

  • Degree (science, preferably life science)
  • High level of drive, motivation, and initiative
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Good presentation skills
  • Ability to problem-solve effectively
  • Awareness of industry guidelines
  • A minimum of 18-24 months of relevant experience in a Medical Communications agency
