Account Manager – Medical Communications role within a dynamic medical communications agency. This permanent, hybrid position (1 day per week in Bedford) offers the opportunity to shape your role and contribute to the continued success and growth of the division.
Role & Responsibilities
- Take ownership of client programmes, working closely with colleagues and clients to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
- Manage client-related financial operations, collaborating with the finance team to monitor budgets, recoverability, and final reconciliations.
- Assist senior team members in providing strategic counsel, refining insights, and identifying opportunities to enhance client outcomes.
- Oversee client teams and contribute to new business planning, expanding client relationships with senior personnel.
- Identify potential challenges in programme delivery, proactively considering solutions and escalating to senior leadership when necessary.
- Ensure all materials meet high standards before client submission, minimising the need for senior-level revisions.
- Review team outputs, providing clear and constructive feedback on tone, messaging, and creative direction.
- Develop strategic plans, proposals, and key client documents.
- Lead and participate in creative sessions to drive new business opportunities and organic growth.
- Represent the agency at client meetings and international events, ensuring seamless project execution.
- Assess project performance, identify strengths and areas for future development.
- Expand understanding of client businesses, industry trends, and competitive landscapes to make informed recommendations.
- Line manage and mentor junior team members, conducting performance reviews and supporting career development.
- Keep the team informed on priorities, deadlines, and key decisions, involving senior leadership as necessary.
- Refine feedback and coaching skills to foster a culture of learning and growth.
- Maintain and expand key industry contacts, sharing insights and opportunities with the team.
Requirements
- Degree (science, preferably life science).
- High level of drive, motivation, and initiative.
- Able to travel internationally.
