The Opportunity - This is an excellent opportunity for a Senior Account Executive ready to step up toward Account Manager level within a high-performing medical communications agency. As a Senior Account Executive, you will play a key role in supporting the delivery of high-quality, insight-led medical communications programmes, while developing your skills across medical affairs and medical education. This role is designed for someone looking to move beyond coordination into greater ownership, increased client exposure, and more strategic responsibility. You’ll play a key role across accounts while developing the skills and experience needed to transition into an Account Manager position. Working closely with senior client services and scientific teams, you’ll gain hands-on experience in account leadership, client partnership, and strategic delivery - all within a structured and supportive environment. You’ll be part of a collaborative and sociable team, where development is a clear priority. With on-the-job coaching, structured training, and defined progression pathways, the business is committed to helping you move confidently into an Account Manager role.
Role & Responsibilities -
- Client & Account Management
- Act as a key day-to-day contact for clients, building confidence and developing toward a trusted advisor role
- Support senior team members in managing accounts, with increasing responsibility for client communication and account delivery
- Contribute to maintaining strong client relationships and identifying opportunities to add value
- Project Coordination & Delivery
- Coordinate with internal teams (medical, creative, digital) to ensure projects are delivered on time and to a high standard
- Take ownership of project elements, progressing toward leading smaller workstreams independently
- Manage key materials including trackers, agendas, and project documentation
- Financial & Operational Development
- Support budget preparation and tracking, gaining exposure to commercial aspects of account management
- Develop understanding of project scope, timelines, and financial delivery
- Team Collaboration & Leadership Development
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality programmes
- Begin to support and guide junior team members, building early leadership experience
- Contribute to a positive, collaborative team culture
- Strategic & Commercial Exposure
- Conduct research and contribute insights to support project delivery and proposals
- Play a role in new business pitches and proposal development
- Gain exposure to account growth and strategic planning
Requirements -
- Degree in a scientific discipline (life sciences preferred)
- 18–24 months’ experience within a medical communications agency
- Strong organisational and project coordination skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Confident presentation skills
- Proactive mindset with a clear interest in developing toward Account Manager level
- Understanding of industry guidelines and best practice
