We are working on behalf of a world leading manufacturer and currently have an exciting opportunity for a Press Setter / Operator based at their site in Long Eaton, Derbyshire.

Main Purpose of the Press Setter / Operator: Reporting to the Manufacturing Manager, the Press Setter / Operator is responsible for the set up and operation of Mechanical and Hydraulic Presses.

Key Responsibilities of the Press Setter / Operator:

  • Operate presses
  • Set and adjust presses
  • Audit and pass off own work to Samples
  • Troubleshoot tool problems
  • Maintain safe working practices within the Press shop
  • Development of new tools

Skills / Experience:

  • Must be able to work on own initiative
  • Be able to communicate effectively to own team and other personnel
  • Be organised and have the ability to prioritise and multi-task
  • Attention to detail
  • Flexible working attitude
  • Good housekeeping practices essential
  • Power Press certificate essential
  • Work using safe working practices.

Salary / Benefits: £36,057pa + Benefits

Hours: 2 shift pattern (Mornings / Afternoons) - 39 hours per week

6.00am – 2.00pm
2.00pm – 10.00pm

Working conditions are normal for an engineering press shop environment, full PPE will be worn (ear defenders, overalls and steel toe cap footwear will be worn). Involves the use of power presses for mass production blanking out of steel and alloy components and their processing to final product involving a variety of presses including draw, form and blank pressing.
