This is a technology and resource solutions business operating across secure government, defence, and national security environments, helping organisations deliver mission-critical programmes that protect and support the UK's most important services. The business has built a strong reputation in complex, high-security settings, working where operational integrity and delivery excellence genuinely matter. The culture here is built around integrity, collaboration, and clear communication. People are trusted to take ownership, contribute meaningfully, and operate with the kind of calm confidence that mission-critical environments demand. Professional development is supported, expertise is recognised, and the work carries real weight.

As Duty Manager SOC/NOC, you'll act as the central point of operational control in a live, high-pressure environment, maintaining oversight across multiple domains and providing the calm, decisive leadership that keeps incident response coordinated and effective.

  • Maintain a single operational picture across cyber, network, service, and physical domains
  • Monitor live environments and assess alerts and incidents in real time
  • Perform initial triage and validation of alerts to reduce noise and structure incidents
  • Control escalation pathways and prioritise incidents appropriately
  • Coordinate activity across SOC, NOC, infrastructure, and security teams
  • Support or initiate major incident management activities
  • Maintain accurate logs, dashboards, and operational records
  • Deliver clear shift handovers and ensure continuous situational awareness across the team

Skills & Experience

  • Active DV clearance is an essential requirement for this role
  • Solid understanding of SOC and NOC workflows, including alert triage and escalation paths
  • Ability to interpret monitoring alerts, logs, and dashboards at an operational level
  • Strong awareness of incident severity, impact, and prioritisation
  • Experience working within a 24x7 operational or control room environment
  • Strong coordination and decision‑making capability in time‑critical situations
  • Background as a Major Incident Manager with technical exposure, a senior SOC/NOC Analyst with leadership experience, or a service operations lead within a 24x7 control environment would all be relevant

The role is intentionally balanced, with roughly 60% operational leadership and coordination and 40% technical awareness and triage capability. Deep technical expertise is not the focus; the ability to understand, assess, and direct activity in a live environment is.

Company Benefits

  • Permanent salary of £80,000 - £90,000 or a contract rate of £600 per day
  • Hybrid working arrangement
  • The opportunity to operate at the centre of live, mission‑critical activity within secure government and defence environments
