An established, award-winning technology services provider is expanding its Managed Services team and is seeking a full-time 1st Line Network Operations Centre Engineer. This role is ideal for a motivated team player with experience in first-line support—preferably within a Managed Service Provider environment—and strong customer service skills. The company places high value on technical skill and ongoing development. Comprehensive training will be provided across the technologies supported, but the ability to quickly adapt to operational processes is essential.
As a NOC Engineer, you will be part of a team delivering 24/7/365 support for a range of customer networks. Key responsibilities include:
- Proactive monitoring of customer devices, dashboards, logs and NMS platforms
- Logging and investigating incidents, escalating where necessary
- Responding to customer queries via phone, email, and service portal
- Ensuring all tickets are handled in line with SLA requirements
- Following scripted procedures to implement changes on customer systems
- Using service desk tools and a range of monitoring platforms to manage workload
This is a 24/7 operational role working a 4 on / 4 off shift pattern, including weekends and bank holidays.
Desirable Experience:
- 1–2+ years in an IT support role or recent completion of relevant networking training
- Cisco CCNA
- Basic troubleshooting of networking solutions
- Ability to follow structured processes and procedures
- Familiarity with monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, LogicMonitor)
- Experience analysing data and identifying patterns or issues
- Background in an ITIL-aligned service desk environment
- Exposure to multi-vendor infrastructure (HP, Juniper, F5, Citrix, CheckPoint, Fortinet, Palo Alto, VMware NSX)
