We are working with a leading professional services organisation looking to hire a Technical Pre-Sales Engineer to support enterprise customers across complex networking opportunities. This role is focused on solution design, bid ownership, and stakeholder engagement rather than hands-on delivery. You'll play a key part in shaping enterprise LAN and campus network solutions, supporting large-scale tenders and customer engagements.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the technical pre-sales lifecycle from qualification through to solution sign-off
- Own and contribute to bids, tenders, and RFP/RFI responses
- Design enterprise LAN and campus network solutions aligned to customer requirements
- Work closely with sales teams to scope, position, and close opportunities
- Translate business requirements into scalable, high-level technical designs (HLDs)
- Present solutions to stakeholders including technical and non-technical audiences
- Act as a trusted advisor to customers across networking strategy and architecture
- Collaborate with internal delivery teams to ensure smooth handover post-sale
Required Experience
- Proven experience in a pre-sales / solutions engineering role (NOT hands-on engineering focus)
- Strong background supporting enterprise LAN / campus networking environments
- Demonstrated experience working on bids, tenders, and large RFP processes
- Experience working within a professional services or consultancy environment
- Solid understanding of:
- Switching & routing (enterprise-grade solutions)
- Enterprise campus architectures
- Network segmentation, security, and scalability
Desirable Skills
- Exposure to software-defined networking / SDA-type environments
- Experience with enterprise wireless solutions
- Knowledge of network security integration
- Relevant certifications (e.g. CCNP, CCIE or equivalent) desirable but not essential

- Strong commercial awareness with the ability to align solutions to business outcomes
- Confident communicator with experience presenting in customer-facing environments
- Detail-oriented, particularly in documentation, bid writing, and proposal creation
- Able to operate in a fast-paced, sales-driven environment
- Based in England and able to travel to client sites when required
