Role
We are seeking a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead the finance function and act as a strategic partner to the executive team. This is a hands-on, commercially focused role with responsibility for a team of 5. You will own the full finance agenda, with a particular emphasis on operational finance, FP&A, performance reporting, and profit optimisation.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading and developing the finance team, embedding high standards and clear accountability
- Drive financial accountability within the organisation
- Full ownership of FP&A, budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning
- Delivering timely, insightful management reporting to support decision-making
- Driving margin improvement, cost control, and profitability across services and contracts
- Overseeing financial controls, cash flow, working capital, and statutory compliance
- Partnering closely with operational and commercial leaders to maximise performance
- Supporting strategic initiatives, growth planning, and potential future transactions

Person
We are looking for a seasoned CFO, or a Finance Director / Head of Finance ready to step into their first CFO role. You will bring:
- Strong experience in a technology, managed services, or project-based environment
- Experience in managing operational finance for organisations, turnover £35m +
- Solid experience in FP&A, commercial finance, and performance analysis
- Proven experience leading and developing finance teams
- A pragmatic, hands-on approach with the ability to operate at both detail and board level
- Strong business partnering skills and commercial mindset
- Confidence influencing senior stakeholders and challenging constructively
