Job Role: Machine Operator (Slitter) Our client is a global leader in the design and manufacture of closure liners and flexible packaging for food, beverage, pharmaceutical, health care, personal care, household and industrial applications. About the Position β’ The machine operator role is part of the client production team and will work on machines allocated by the shift supervisor. The operator will run the machines, following the planned production schedule, on a shift rotation. Position Responsibilities β’ Operating all machinery in an efficient and safe manner β’ Running and maintaining the production of extrusion and coating lamination, including printing, ensuring all safety and quality procedures are followed whilst remaining on track with the production plan. β’ Slitting material produced from the laminators and extrusion machines into tapes as per the customer requirement, following strict quality procedures. β’ Operate all production lines, after appropriate training. β’ Support and help in the cross-training of other team members. β’ Covering holiday and sick β’ Process the material through the ERP Styeline system β’ Ensuring that all company driven SOPs and instructions are followed. β’ Making sure all codes used in Syteline are accurate and correct. Essential Skills and Characteristics β’ Safety Driven, conscientious, self-motivated and confident. β’ Understanding of Quality Systems would be an advantage. β’ Must have basic numeric and literacy skills to ensure accurate recording of data using set paperwork β’ Moving and managing material using electric pump trucks, forklifts β’ Ability to handle heavy equipment. β’ Be able to read, understand and follow production plans and Standard Operating Procedures. β’ Focus driven to hit production targets. β’ Keep the area clean and tidy. β’ Basic computer knowledge. β’ Ability to work independently and part of a team β’ Ability to multitask. β’ Must be able to work overtime. β’ Must be able to speak, write and read English Key Initiatives β’ Adhere to Company core values. β’ Follow a 3-rotation shift pattern, Early (6am β 2pm) Lates (2pm β 10pm) Nights (10pm β 6am) Mon-Fri β’ Complete company provided safety training. β’ Complete company provided quality training. β’ 5 slitters to train on. Qualified slitter operator by month 3 on 1 of the 5 slitters. β’ Qualified slitter operator on additional slitter by end of month 12. Rates of Pay: Β£13.50 per hour, Overtime Rate Β£14.00 per hour.
