Duties & Responsibilities
- Process purchase requisitions / orders within purchasing authority
- Prepare plans for the purchase of equipment, services, and supplies.
- Invite, assess, and award supplier tenders, bids, quotations, and proposals
- Review, compare, analyze, and approve products and services to be purchased.
- Establish and negotiate pricing and contract terms and conditions and maintain supplier relationships
- Prepare and maintain purchasing records, reports, and price lists
- Work with relevant stakeholders to determine procurement needs, quality, and delivery requirements
- Co-ordinate all logistics involved, utilizing internal suppliers, in the receipt and delivery of procured items
- Research and evaluate prospective suppliers
- Assist in the development of specifications for equipment and materials to be purchased.
- Control entire export process into relevant countries.
- Communicate with intercompany divisions regarding logistical requirements for import and exports across all modes of transport.
- Administer contract performance, including receipt, delivery, warranties, damages, and insurance.
- Comply with all Company processes and procedures, regulations, and standards
- Develop and maintain constructive and cooperative working relationships with colleagues, management, suppliers, and clients.
- Follow and enforce the company’s procurement policies and procedures
- Desired Experience & Qualification
- Ten years previous experience as procurement officer or related position
- Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Power Point, Outlook, and Excel)
- Sourcing knowledge and export experience
- Ability to analyze problems and strategize for better solutions
- Ability to work extremely well under pressure
- High attention to detail and superior organizational and coordination skills
- Ability to negotiate, establish, and administer contracts and relationships.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently and professionally
- Accurate and precise attention to detail
- Ability to work well with management and staff at all levels
- Goal-oriented, organized team player
