Dynamic Group is a growing specialist recruitment business headquartered in Radlett, Hertfordshire, operating across the Rail, Construction, Utilities, and Fibre sectors. We are expanding into the German market, particularly within fibre infrastructure projects, and are seeking an experienced Senior Management Accountant to support and oversee the financial operations of our German division.

Role Overview

This is a senior, hands-on finance role with full responsibility for the financial management of our German fibre projects. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring financial compliance, delivering accurate reporting, and supporting operational and strategic decision-making. A critical requirement is proven knowledge and experience of German construction tax laws and regulations, including CIS-equivalent frameworks and contractor taxation. This is a fully office-based role; candidates must be able to work from either the Radlett office or our Stuttgart office.

Key Responsibilities

  • Financial Management & Reporting
    • Preparation and presentation of monthly management accounts for German operations, including detailed variance analysis.
    • Delivery of accurate financial reporting to senior leadership to support commercial and strategic decisions.
    • Cash flow management, forecasting, and budgeting for German projects.
    • Maintenance of robust financial controls and accurate accounting records.
  • Payroll & Contractor Management
    • Preparation and processing of weekly/monthly payroll, including contractors operating within German fibre and construction projects.
    • Ensuring compliance with German payroll legislation and labour regulations.
    • Management of contractor payments in line with project timelines.
  • Accounts Receivable & Payable
    • Preparation and issuance of invoices in line with contractual agreements.
    • Management of accounts receivable, including credit control across German clients.
    • Processing supplier invoices and overseeing payment runs.
    • Monitoring and recording project-related expenses.
  • Tax & Compliance (Germany-Focused)
    • Ensuring full compliance with German construction tax laws (including withholding tax regimes and contractor taxation requirements).
    • Preparation and submission of all relevant tax filings in Germany.
    • Overseeing VAT compliance within Germany and cross-border transactions where applicable.
    • Liaising with local tax advisors and regulatory bodies as required.
    • Supporting year-end reporting and audit processes.
  • Systems & Process Improvement
    • Utilising accounting systems (including QuickBooks or equivalent) to manage financial operations.
    • Implementing and improving financial processes to support international growth.
    • Ensuring scalable and compliant financial systems across UK and German operations.
  • Stakeholder Management
    • Partnering with directors, project managers, and operational teams across both the UK and Germany.
    • Providing financial insight and commercial support to fibre project delivery.
    • Acting as a key finance contact for the German division.

Essential Requirements

  • Proven experience in a Senior Management Accountant or Finance Manager role.
  • Strong demonstrable knowledge of German construction tax laws and regulations (essential requirement).
  • Experience working within construction, infrastructure, fibre, or recruitment sectors.
  • Experience managing contractor payroll and payments within a project-based environment.
  • Strong knowledge of VAT and cross-border financial operations.
  • Excellent working knowledge of accounting systems such as QuickBooks.
  • Ability to produce accurate and timely management accounts.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines independently.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to work across international teams.

Desirable

  • Fully qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA, or German equivalent such as Steuerberater qualification) or actively studying.
  • Previous experience working in both UK and German financial environments.

Additional Requirements

  • German language skills (highly advantageous but not essential).

Working Conditions

This is a fully office-based position (no hybrid working). Candidates must be able to work from either Radlett, Hertfordshire or Stuttgart, Germany on a full-time basis. Willingness to collaborate across locations and travel if required.
