The Role: Complete Fleet Ownership
We are looking for a highly autonomous Lead Mobile Mechanic to take full control of a diverse fleet. This is a 100% mobile, site-based role. You will be the technical expert on the ground, ensuring our commercial vehicles, site machinery, and support transport maintain maximum uptime. We provide a modern, fully kitted-out service van with high-end diagnostic gear and all necessary tools. You provide the "on-the-spot" expertise to keep the entire operation moving.
The Fleet You Will Manage:
- Commercial HGVs: Grab Lorries and Hotboxes (Focusing on HGV chassis, PTOs, and Hydraulic systems).
- Site Machinery: Turchi 300 Piling Rigs and Sunward Skid Steers (Hydraulic circuits and drive systems).
- Support Vehicles: Toyota Hilux 4x4s and Ford Transit Vans.
- Utility & Transport: Kawasaki Mule UTVs and Triple-axle plant trailers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Site-Based Maintenance: 100% mobile role providing rapid diagnostics and mechanical repairs directly on project sites.
- Multi-Discipline Repairs: Handling everything from HGV air systems and braking to skid steer hydraulics and small engine maintenance.
- Diagnostics: Using provided software to clear faults and tune engine performance across the entire fleet.
- Compliance: Managing 6-weekly HGV inspections and ensuring all site equipment meets strict safety and operational standards.
Requirements (The Essentials):
- Experience: A strong background in Mixed Fleet maintenance (HGVs, Light Commercials, and Plant).
- Mobility: Must be comfortable working in a 100% mobile capacity across various sites.
- Technical Skill: Competent in hydraulic systems, 12v/24v electrical troubleshooting, and diesel engine diagnostics.
- Qualifications: NVQ Level 3 in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance or Land-Based Service Engineering.
- Driving License: Full UK License is mandatory; a Category C (Class 2) HGV license is highly preferred.
