As a Manufacturing Engineer you will work as part of a wider team liaising with internal groups, suppliers, and customers as appropriate. This position is pivotal to ensuring that processes used, and products produced throughout their manufacturing cycle meet the applicable quality standards required by our internal procedures, customers & regulatory bodies with the overall aim of enhancing customer satisfaction. Working in a team environment you will be instrumental in the resolution of manufacturing issues, performing thorough root cause analysis and the implementation of robust corrective & preventative actions.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Lead project based NPI in-load through gated process and presenting weekly updates to stakeholders.
  • Develop manufacturing processes.
  • Shopfloor manufacturing support as and when needed.
  • Assures product conformance by implementing effective processes.
  • Understand and implement customer and regulatory specifications to maintain product integrity.
  • Create and review manufacturing routings and BOMs.
  • Create and review FAIR documentation in line with NPI process.
  • Create and maintain effective PFMEA’s, including DCM’s and Control plans and process flows.
  • Create in-process inspection plans; final inspection plans; SOPs; data cards.
  • Implement ECRs as required.
  • Support NCR closure by investigation and disposition non-conforming product using 5Y, 3C, 8D as applicable, and implement effective RCCA including submission of concession/deviation permit applications as applicable.
  • Participate in meetings including daily SQCDP production board meetings.
  • Comply with all relevant internal rules, policy and procedures, including those related to Health and Safety, Data Protection and issued Employee Handbook.

Knowledge & Experience

  • Aerospace industry experience.
  • Sheet metal/machining, including special processes experience.
  • Project management skills.
  • CAD experience (2D and 3D).
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Exceptional communication and customer service skills.
  • Strong organisational skills, with ability to multitask.
  • Outstanding decision-making and problem-solving skills.

Hours of work

Monday to Friday 7am-4pm Monday to Thursday, 7am-12pm Friday or 8am-5pm Monday to Thursday, 8am-1pm Friday.
