We are currently looking to recruit an experienced Tradesperson (Bricklayer/Stone Mason) to join our CP7 CAM Civils Reactive Framework team covering the South Wales Region. The primary purpose of the Tradesperson is to undertake skilled works on site in area of expertise as instructed by Site Supervisor or General Foreman, undertake works efficiently and safely in accordance with specifications and drawings to a high degree of accuracy and quality. The Tradesperson will also be expected to be part of the on-call rota team to react to emergency responses while also ensuring planned projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the specified quality standards. The ideal candidate would preferably have previous maintenance and reactive framework experience, working in a fast-paced environment where multiple small projects are undertaken simultaneously while also being able to react to urgent responses.

Job Requirements:

  • Keep up to date with current legislation and industry trends.
  • Work with and/or instruct Skilled and General Operatives when required.
  • Use skills and knowledge of trade to carry out assigned tasks relevant to that particular trade.
  • Assist with the correct setup and organisation of site.
  • Collaborate with Site Management Team to ensure materials and plant are ordered in good time to prevent delays in production.
  • Assist Site Management Team with proactive suggestions on methodology and health and safety to improve site works.
  • Where required, work with tools appropriate to the skills and experience.
  • Operate plant equipment and transport only when qualified for.
  • Undertake tasks within the skills range of a Tradesperson as effectively as possible and to the defined standards.
  • Liaise with the Line Manager/Site Supervisor on the completion of the work including, where appropriate, the planning of work to ensure the most effective use of time and resources.
  • Where appropriate, provide instruction, guidance, assistance and supervision to apprentices and trainees.
  • Observe all Health and Safety and Work regulations and report all hazards to the Line Manager.
  • Promote equal opportunities and diversity in service delivery.
  • Foster constructive and collaborative working relationships with stakeholders and partner organisations.
  • Participate in the continuous improvement of service delivery ensuring that policies and procedures comply with legislation and regulatory requirements.

Skills and Experience:

  • Relevant certificated qualification and/or proven relevant work experience.
  • Construction Skills Certification Scheme Card essential.
  • Knowledge of good practice relating to Health and Safety Regulations.
  • Commitment to the highest practicable standards of health and safety and environmental protection.
  • Ability to work on your own initiative and as a part of a team.
  • Ability to work to a high standard under pressure to meet target dates.
  • Valid PTS.
