We are currently looking to recruit an experienced General Foreman to join our CP7 CAM Civils Reactive Framework team covering the Wales Region. The primary purpose of the General Foreman is to assist the framework management team on the day-to-day planned minor civil engineering and maintenance projects within the framework ranging from structures, earthworks, drainage & tunnels. The General Foreman will be expected to be part of the on-call rota team to react to emergency responses while also ensuring planned projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the specified quality standards. This role requires effective coordination of all on-site activities, including workforce management, subcontractor supervision, and client liaison. The ideal candidate would preferably have previous maintenance and reactive framework experience, working in a fast-paced environment where multiple small projects are undertaken simultaneously while also being able to react to urgent responses.

Job Requirements:

  • Collaborate with company’s senior managers and support teams to ensure that projects are completed in a safe manner whilst client’s requirements and expectations are maintained and exceeded.
  • Oversee the execution of construction activities, ensuring adherence to project plans.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Lead and manage on-site teams, including engineers, supervisors, and labourers.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and services.
  • Implement quality control procedures to ensure project specifications and standards are met.
  • Conduct regular inspections and audits to maintain high-quality workmanship.
  • Address and resolve any quality issues promptly.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.
  • Foster positive relationships with clients, local authorities, and community stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation and records.
  • Willing to contribute to the reactive rota servicing the framework.

Skills and Experience:

  • Proven experience in managing civil engineering projects.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • SSSTS/SMSTS Accreditation.
  • Strong understanding of health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Valid PTS / COSS desirable.
