Description

The Director of Sales, UK is responsible for building and leading the strong New Business, Customer Success and Account Management Sales teams, driving KPIs and embedding a best-in-class high performance culture. Reporting to the Managing Director, UK, the successful candidate will work closely with the GTM teams to grow and retain revenue within the UK.

The Director of Sales, UK will be working from our Paddington offices at least 3 days a week and will focus on building, developing and supporting our sales leaders and their teams. This position is a second-line, hands-on management role that requires an analytical approach to pipeline management, critical thinking, a coaching mentality and a determination to achieve growth-oriented revenue targets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and explore new market opportunities, staying ahead of industry trends, regulatory changes, and competitive activity
  • Create and execute strategic initiatives by coaching & leading teams to acquire new business and optimise revenue from their customer bases
  • Working with your sales leaders to identify opportunities to cross sell/up sell to existing customers to continue market growth
  • Develop strong relationships with decision makers and influencers within key customers and prospects.
  • Instil a high-performance culture, focusing on productivity by developing, coaching and challenging an existing team of Sales professionals
  • Utilise systems and tools to implement and monitor KPIs, track pipeline funnel and provide reports to senior leadership
  • Collaborate with Sales Leadership, Product, Marketing and Sales Operations in management and execution of plans
  • Attract, onboard and develop quality sales talent and embed a strong sales culture in our Paddington office
  • Deploy department objectives that align with the global Sales organisation goals, whilst aligning with overall business strategy
  • Report on pipeline and quota attainment by rep on a weekly/monthly/quarterly basis
  • Continuously looking for opportunities to improve Sales practices and processes, through 1-1 mentorship, attending external events and encouraging peer-to-peer collaboration

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

  • 10+ years of sales management experience with 2+ years in a second line management role
  • Proven track record of success – exceeding revenue targets and building lasting customer relationships
  • Sales management experience in a scale-up SaaS environment is required.
    • B2B legal software experience is strongly desirable
  • Proven experience in recruiting and building a high performing Sales team, with a new business and Account Management focus
  • Experience in coaching and developing sales teams to grow their careers
  • Demonstrable experience in leading a fast paced, activity driven and target oriented team
  • Practical experience in implementing KPIs to manage sales activity and performance
  • Demonstrated ability to implement and effectively manage team pipeline and forecasts
  • Working knowledge and practical experience in the application of Sales methodologies
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Salesforce CRM
  • Strong communication and influencing skills
  • Process driven, with the ability to utilise data to analyze trends, make decisions and improve practices
  • Sound organisational skills
  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt to change
