Purpose of the role

As a Street Cleansing Operative based in Portsmouth, PO6 1TA, you will be part of a team carrying out varied cleansing duties across 10 different locations in Portsmouth.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Sweep roads as per daily route maps in a safe and responsible manner.
  • Make sure waste bags are placed in sensible locations for drivers to collect.
  • Report any bulk waste to charge hand or supervisor on observation.
  • Work varied shift hours depending on precise job requirements.
  • Keep all tools in a safe and tidy manner, ie barrows, brooms etc.
  • Be able to follow basic instruction as given by charge hand and supervisor.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will have the drive and passion for the work that is required to be done. You will be comfortable with working outdoors in every weather condition. Experience working in a similar manual labour environment is ideal but not essential.

  • A salary of £26,436.80.
