Senior VMware, Microsoft & Linux Platforms 24×7 Engineer
Location: Onsite in Erskine or Newcastle
UK Work Mode: Full-time onsite, operating within a 24×7 rotational shift pattern Compensation: Includes a generous 35% shift allowance

This is a rare opportunity to take end-to-end ownership of critical infrastructure platforms—driving performance, resilience, and innovation across VMware, Microsoft, and Linux ecosystems.
You won’t just support operations—you’ll shape them. This role is designed to leverage your expertise across the full 24×7 function, influencing adjacent teams and helping grow technical capability across the board. The successful candidate must be a sole UK national and hold or be eligible for high-level UK government security clearance (DV). Please note we can consider candidates from both Erskine or Newcastle locations.
Essential Job Functions
What You’ll Be Doing:
· Own and manage infrastructure platforms from design through to incident resolution
· Drive automation and operational efficiency using PowerCLI, Terraform, and Ansible
· Ensure platform stability and security across vSphere, NSX, SRM, Azure, Active Directory, and Linux distributions
· Collaborate across the 24×7 operation to uplift technical standards and share best practices
· Support hybrid environments with a focus on uptime, scalability, and compliance
What You’ll Bring:
· 10+ years of hands-on experience across VMware, Microsoft, and Linux ecosystems
· Proven ability to lead technical troubleshooting and platform optimisation
· Strong scripting and automation skills (PowerShell, Bash, Python)
· Experience in secure environments and eligibility for UK government DV clearance
· A proactive mindset with a passion for mentoring and growing technical teams
