Role Summary

As a Senior Application Support Analyst (SQL / Insurance Systems) you will be working within an international support team delivering Insurance Software solutions across London Market, General Insurance, and Health Insurance clients. The role involves providing application support, issue investigation, system enhancements, release activities, and service delivery support, while ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and adherence to contractual SLAs.

Working with SQL Server and DXC application tools, you will be investigating issues, developing and deploying fixes, supporting software enhancements, and contributing to the successful delivery of client solutions. You will play a key role in investigating complex issues, delivering system enhancements, and supporting the successful operation of mission-critical insurance applications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Providing application and database support for insurance software solutions, ensuring service levels and client expectations are consistently met.
  • Investigating, designing, developing, testing, and deploying fixes and enhancements using SQL Server and DXC application tools.
  • Supporting the end-to-end delivery lifecycle, including requirements analysis, documentation, testing, release management, and deployment activities.
  • Building effective relationships with clients and stakeholders, delivering clear communication and high levels of customer service.
  • Mentoring and supporting team members, contributing to service improvement initiatives, and assisting with operational management activities.
  • Participating in support rotas, client meetings, service reviews, and other business-as-usual support functions.
  • Working closely with development, QA, service delivery, and client teams to ensure effective operational support and continuous service improvement.
  • Supporting incident management, problem resolution, and enhancement delivery in line with agreed service commitments and project objectives.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Strong SQL Server development and support experience, including investigating issues, designing solutions, developing fixes, and supporting deployments.
  • Minimum 2 years' SQL Server experience, including database development and support.
  • Experience or exposure to insurance industry practices and/or insurance systems.
  • Experience in application support, systems analysis, business analysis, or similar client-facing technical roles.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to investigate issues and deliver effective solutions.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a client-facing environment.
  • Proven track record of investigating technical issues and delivering effective solutions.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and customer-focused, with a commitment to delivering high-quality service.
  • Willingness and ability to travel to client sites when required.

  • Experience working within the insurance industry.
  • Experience supporting enterprise-scale business applications.
  • Knowledge of Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies and ITIL practices.
  • Experience with data analysis, reporting, and programming.
