Location - Erskine, Scotland or Onsite in Preston (Hybrid). Due to the nature of the work and the customers we support, the successful candidate must be eligible to meet UK Government and contractual personnel security requirements, including the applicable residency requirements for the role, and have the right to work in the United Kingdom. We are seeking an experienced NetApp Storage Engineer to join a major infrastructure programme delivering project-based storage solutions within a secure environment. This role is focused exclusively on project delivery, including the design, implementation, migration, and optimisation of enterprise storage platforms. There are no operational support responsibilities associated with this position.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement enterprise storage solutions using NetApp technologies.
- Deliver storage infrastructure projects, including migrations, upgrades, technology refreshes, and transformation initiatives.
- Configure and deploy NetApp storage environments, ensuring scalability, resilience, and performance requirements are met.
- Implement storage replication, backup, recovery, and disaster recovery solutions.
- Work closely with server, virtualisation, network, and cloud teams to deliver integrated infrastructure solutions.
- Participate in technical design workshops and contribute to solution architecture discussions.
- Produce and maintain project documentation, implementation plans, technical designs, and handover documentation.
- Ensure all solutions comply with security, governance, and operational standards.
- Support project testing, validation, and transition activities.

- Proven experience delivering enterprise storage infrastructure projects.
- Strong hands-on experience with NetApp storage technologies.
- Experience designing and implementing enterprise-scale storage environments.
- Strong understanding of storage networking and associated protocols.
- Experience with storage migrations, upgrades, and technology refresh programmes.
- Knowledge of virtualisation technologies, including VMware vSphere.
- Experience with capacity planning, performance optimisation, and storage architecture best practices.
- Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
