We are currently looking for a Desktop Support Engineer to support one of our clients based on-site in Southampton. This is a full-time position working a 37.5-hour week Monday to Friday. The ideal candidate will be required to have a flexible approach as overtime and on-call duties may be required. Be eligible to obtain SC Security Clearance.
Responsibilities:- Desktop / Laptop / VDI build, configuration, deployment to end users
- Software installation / deployment
- Asset and peripheral deployments
- In depth investigation into issues
- Work as part of a support team with laptop, desktop and VDI terminals support calls
- Hardware installation / upgrade / break fix for desktop, laptop, and server
- Smartphone support (Android & iOS)
- VIP support
- Assisting with customer projects
- Occasional travel required around the area to help cover Leave at sites (within a 2hr travel)
- Microsoft Windows 10, and 11 Operating Systems – Deployment, configuration, and support
- Support Microsoft Office 2016 onwards
- Proven and demonstrable software and hardware troubleshooting skills, experience in a Deskside Support role
- Knowledge of Microsoft SCCM and OS / Application deployment
- Good verbal communication with an ability to communicate to all levels
- Good written communication: concise and accurate call logging, documentation, and email correspondence
- Good time management / organisational skills
- Work well as part of a team or independently
- Microsoft Windows 10 and / or 11 training, certification, and experience
- Legacy Operating Systems
- Active Directory management
- Understanding of Microsoft SCCM
- Experience of Microsoft Entra
- Experience of Trellix EPO and client-side agents
- Experience of client-side Wi-Fi configuration and troubleshooting
- Experience of Windows Security configuration
- Experience of client encryption and VPN - Trellix, BitLocker, Cisco, F5 and Zscaler
- Previous experience in a similar role
