We are developing our Manufacturing Execution System (MES) team and are looking for an experienced senior technical Consultant to join us. You would work on a range of assignments for our client to solve their business problems. You will be part of a multi-skilled team where you can apply your comprehensive understanding of manufacturing processes, methods, and design knowledge. Must be eligible to obtain UK SC level security clearance.
Responsibilities
- Provide Subject Matter Expert knowledge of the MES
- Understand integrations between SAP, PLM, and MES interactions
- Technical expertise in Siemens Simatic IT 7
- Develop, execute, and manage test plans
- Test new releases of MES software, fixes, and updates
- Support Rolls-Royce during test phases of new plant implementations
- Investigate and resolve defects during testing
- Assist in discovering manufacturing plants adopting MES
- Advise manufacturing plants on MES adoption aligned with their processes
- Develop user training guides
- Deliver business user training and support during MES 7.0 adoption and post-go-live
- Collaborate with client Solution Architect, Siemens, DXC MES engineering, and manufacturing plant teams within Scrum teams
- Use structured problem solving to resolve user queries and defects
- Update design documentation and Information Assurance for customer review
- Travel to customer sites for workshops and implementation as needed
- Provide out-of-hours support during Go-Live to ensure smooth operation
- Contribute to continuous improvement of DevOps processes
Knowledge & Skills
- 8-10 years experience in a similar role
- Over 10 years experience in a global manufacturing corporation
- Specialist SME knowledge of Siemens SIMATIC IT
- Experience with manufacturing using MES
- Understanding of MES business processes, data structures, and manufacturing workflows
- Knowledge of SAP, PLM, and MES system integration
- Ability to apply methodologies and SME knowledge to resolve business issues
- Capability to understand customer problems and design appropriate IS solutions
- Leadership in opportunity pursuits, proposal preparation, and reviews
- Translate requirements into documents, statements of work, and proposals
- Guide project planning, costing, and resource management for successful delivery
- Effective communication with manufacturing teams, including super users, MRP, and senior management
- Ability to analyze and resolve data issues within business processes
- Build relationships and influence senior stakeholders and partners
- Knowledge of testing practices and tools for new and existing functionalities
- Experience with agile working practices
- Awareness of future technological or operational trends relevant to customer needs
