Role Summary: To support DXC's XFI insurance software implemented across London Market, General and Health insurance markets. The support team sits across an international footprint, with clients opting for either dedicated or nonâdedicated team support. The role requires the use of SQL Server and XFI application tools to provide issue resolution in line with contracted SLAs as well as helping develop additional functionality as required by clients. A Senior Support Analyst will also be expected to provide elements of mentoring and training to team members and to support the role of the Support manager when required.
Key Accountabilities And Responsibilities:
- Supporting client's existing configurations and dayâtoâday queries.
- Using analytical skills to debug and troubleshoot configuration or systemic issues.
- Conduct triage and analysis of support requests from the client whilst adhering to contracted SLAs.
- Estimating and designing solutions to insurance issues.
- Gathering and interpreting client business requirements.
- Documenting and planning fixes/changes required.
- Developing fixes/changes utilizing SQL Server and DXC's application tools.
- Conducting developer testing and peer reviews.
- Deploying fixes/changes into client systems in adherence to clientâspecific release processes and audit requirements.
- Communicating with client at all stages of the development lifecycle to provide excellent customer service.
- Demonstrating fixes/changes to end users and assisting in QA and UAT testing efforts.
- Working a shift pattern or onâcall rota within the support team to cover core contracted support hours if required.
- Independently supporting a client (or group of clients) with BAU issues through the full development lifecycle without assistance.
- Designing, developing, reviewing and executing system test scripts.
- Preparing technical system documentation as a reference for testing and support.
- Collaborating with internal and external teams to achieve issue resolution.
- Escalating issues with line manager when required.
- Ensuring coding standards and best practice approaches are adhered to and updated when necessary.
- Entering time reporting into the current time reporting system daily to allow invoicing.
- Providing mentoring and training to team members.
- Assisting the support manager with release management and client meetings.
Essential Skills & Qualifications:
- Excellent problemâsolving skills.
- Knowledge and understanding of database design best practice.
- Experience in a BA or secondâline software support role.
- Ability to produce highâstandard documentation.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Excellent communication skills across all mediums (faceâtoâface, conference calls, webex, status reports, email).
- Ability to advise and influence client directives in relation to scope, time, costs and approach.
- Decisionâmaking ability considering priorities, constraints and available information.
- Selfâstarter.
- Willingness to travel to client sites domestically and internationally if required.
- Hardâworking, enthusiastic, and enjoys being challenged.
- Demonstrated learning of new software tools/products.
- Minimum 2 years of active experience using SQL Server, confident in all aspects of SQL including: Stored procedures / Triggers / Views / Functions / Indexes. Table creation and maintenance requiring detailed data entry.
Desirable Skills & Qualifications:
- Confidence in presenting information to internal and external clients.
- Ability to conceptualise and build complex system architectures using DXC's software and the database together.
- Experience or exposure to insurance industry practices and/or systems (minimum 2 years).
- Experience in data analysis and reporting.
- Understanding of metadata systems.
- Knowledge of development lifeâcycle best practices.
- Other programming experience.
- ITIL qualification.
