This Network Engineering role focuses on support and implementation of network infrastructures across a large multiāvendor, multiāsite environment for a DXC customer. The incumbent will cover BAU projects and support activities and will be part of a 24x7 onācall rota. The role is hybrid, requiring two days per week onāsite at either the Erskine or Newcastle location. Candidates must be British citizens and willing or able to obtain SC clearance (eligible or currently possess).
Key responsibilities:- Maintain data network hardware and systems.
- Investigate and resolve network and hardware issues.
- Analyze, isolate and troubleshoot network errors.
- Assess and upgrade legacy network components as required.
- Provide technical support for internal and external customers.
- Respond to technical inquiries and recommend solutions.
- Lead network problem escalation and resolution.
- Install and maintain network infrastructure, including hardware, software and system data, for small to mediumāsized networks.
- Deploy network applications on servers and voice equipment.
- Conduct network testing, maintenance and problem resolution.
- Perform network configurations and implement changes on routers, switches, firewalls and security appliances.
- Prepare network diagrams and documentation reflecting current operational status.
- Draft proposal documentation to address customer requirements.
- Cisco LAN/WAN skills equivalent to CCNP level.
- Experience working in a largeāscale, multiāvendor complex environment.
- Strong technical documentation skills.
- Experience with OSPF, BGP and iBGP routing protocols.
- Experience with largeāscale structured cabling in a production/manufacturing environment.
- Experience with firewalls, ideally Palo Alto, Cisco or Juniper.
- Configuring and managing IPSec tunnels on firewalls and routers.
- Cisco WiāFi deployment and management.
- InfoBlox IPAM service.
- Cisco AnyConnect deployed on Firepower (running ASA OS).
- Broadcom proxies.
- F5 load balancers.
- RSA 2āfactor authentication services.
- Experience in data networking with Cisco infrastructures.
- Proven experience troubleshooting LAN/WAN/FW systems and technical infrastructure.
- Knowledge of modern network systems, networking principles and data or video communications.
- Eligible for or currently possess SC clearance (mandatory).
