We deliver enterprise technology solutions that help defence organisations modernise infrastructure, implement cloud platforms, and optimise mission-critical systems.\ The Infrastructure/Platform Architect is a senior technical leadership position responsible for designing, implementing and managing enterprise-scale infrastructure platforms supporting defence and aerospace operations. You will architect complex IT environments, define technology strategies, lead infrastructure modernisation programmes, and ensure alignment with security, compliance and operational requirements. Design and define enterprise infrastructure architectures spanning compute, storage, networking and virtualisation platforms\ N Develop cloud strategy andhybrid infrastructure roadmaps aligned with MOD requirements and defence security standards\ N Lead capacity planning, scalability assessments and infrastructure optimisation initiatives\ N Platform Implementation & Modernisation\ Lead design and implementation of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or private cloud) supporting mission-critical workloads\ N Architect security controls into infrastructure design, including network segmentation, access controls and encryption\ N Ensure infrastructure compliance with MOD security policy, ITAR regulations and industry standards\ N Support operational readiness, performance monitoring and incident response planning\ Security Clearance \Minimum 12 years' IT infrastructure experience with at least 5 years in an architecture role\ N Strong background in cloudarchitecture (AWS, Azure, or equivalent) and hybrid infrastructure models\ N Track record of leading infrastructure modernisation programmes and technology transformation\ N Experience in defence, aerospace or government IT environments\ Strong knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or equivalent), including services, scaling and cost optimisation\ N Strong networking knowledge including SDN, load balancing and network security architectures\ N Familiarity with MOD security requirements, classification handling and defence contractor compliance\ N Knowledge of disaster recovery planning, business continuity and high-availability design patterns\ Experience with aerospace anddefence IT programmes\ N AWS Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect or equivalent cloud certification\ N Experience with infrastructure-as-code and DevOps practices\ N Highly competitive salary and benefits package\ N Enhanced pension scheme \n Private medical insurance and comprehensive health benefits\ N Flexible working arrangements\ N Professional development and training support\ N DXC Technology is an equalopportunities employer committed to building diverse, inclusive teams.
