About The Role
We are seeking an experienced software developer to lead a team of engineers in the Farnborough, UK facility.
This is a hands‑on technical leadership role where you will guide software development, provide mentorship, and contribute to the execution of our engineering strategy.

Key Responsibilities
- Support a team of software engineers in product and solutions development, providing technical guidance, code reviews, and hands‑on support.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to define project requirements and ensure successful delivery on time and within scope.
- Assist in the professional growth and mentorship of team members through feedback, coaching, and career development planning.
- Contribute to the execution of the software engineering strategy, participating in strategic discussions and technology assessments.
- Manage project tasks and assignments, helping to prioritize and plan work to meet goals and deadlines.
- Monitor project timelines, resource allocation, and budgets to ensure efficient execution.
- Proactively identify and mitigate project risks, working to resolve issues as they arise.

Essential Qualifications

- Proficiency in C/C++ programming with hands‑on experience in production environments.
- Strong proficiency in Linux operating systems (system administration, kernel knowledge, or application development).
- Proficiency in Python programming with real‑world project experience.
- Strong programming and debugging skills across multiple languages.
- Demonstrated experience with software development methodologies and best practices (Agile, Scrum, CI/CD).
- Proven ability to lead, mentor, and develop team members.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Excellent organizational and time‑management skills.
- Willingness to learn and grow in a technical leadership role.
Desirable Qualifications
- Advanced degree (Master's) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
- Relevant certifications or training (Agile/Scrum Master, cloud certifications).
- Experience with version control systems (Git, SVN).
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and Dev Ops practices.

UK Security Clearance (SC) eligibility is mandatory for this role.
