Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Data Project Manager to lead cross-functional data initiatives, establish operational frameworks, and drive best practices across data teams. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong leadership skills, a passion for data, and the ability to engage directly with clients to deliver impactful solutions. You will be responsible for designing & governing a new framework for how projects should me scoped, proposed & resourced, managing project lifecycles, mentoring team members, and ensuring alignment between technical execution and business goals.
Key Responsibilities
Project Leadership & Delivery
- Design Framework for all Data & AI lead projects to be governed by
- Lead end-to-end delivery of data-centric projects, ensuring timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met
- Define and manage project scopes, goals, and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders
- Coordinate across data engineering, analytics, and business teams to ensure seamless execution
Best Practices & Frameworks
- Develop and implement standardized project management methodologies tailored to data projects (e.g., Agile, Scrum, Kanban)
- Establish and maintain best practices for data governance, quality, and documentation
- Create reusable frameworks and templates to streamline project execution and reporting
Team Leadership & Development
- Manage and mentor a team of data professionals, fostering a culture of continuous learning and innovation
- Identify skills gaps and create development plans to support team growth
- Facilitate knowledge sharing and cross-functional collaboration
Customer Engagement
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients and stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and alignment
- Translate business requirements into technical specifications and actionable plans
- Present project updates, insights, and outcomes to both technical and non-technical audiences
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Proven experience (5+ years) in project management, with a focus on data or analytics projects
- Strong understanding of data platforms, pipelines, and tools (e.g., SQL, Python, cloud platforms, BI tools)
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Experience with Agile methodologies and project management tools (e.g., Jira, Asana, Trello)
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications
- PMP, PRINCE2, or Agile certification
- Experience of data science, analytics, or engineering
- Experience working in a client-facing or consulting environment
- Familiarity with data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA)
