At DXC, one of our platinum accounts has an opening for an experienced Database Administrator. The successful candidate will work within one of our database support teams and will be focused and motivated with good interpersonal skills. Your role will include optimising and tuning database performance and assisting in database migration.
Role responsibilities:
- Installing and configuring database binaries
- Writing and maintaining scripts to automate DBA tasks
- Investigating and implementing automation of processes
- Perform routine, periodic, and proactive operation and monitoring
- Troubleshoot database related issues
- Perform patching and upgrades to ensure data security
What you will bring to the team:

Desirable Skills and Technologies:
- Administration experience in a database technology such as Oracle, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, MySQL, etc.
- Experience of OS such as RHEL and Windows Server
- Experience in cloud technologies such as AWS and AWS database migrations
- Experience in Ansible
- Knowledge of database monitoring tools, such as OEM and Nagios
- Experience in scripting, such as Powershell and Bash
- Knowledge of database server clustering, failover, and disaster recovery
- Experience in database replication software, such as Data Guard, Replication Manager for PostgreSQL, and MongoDB ReplicaSets
- Experience in backup/recovery procedures and scripting
