Job Description:Junior Software DeveloperLocation: Farnborough, UKWork Pattern: Full-time, OnsiteDepartment: Software EngineeringAbout the RoleWe are seeking a Software Developer to join our software engineering team at our Farnborough facility. This is a hands-on technical role where you will be part of a team of software engineers in the development of software products and solutions and conducting code reviews.Key ResponsibilitiesWorking with a team of software engineers developing software, products and solutions and conducting code reviews.Ensuring the successful delivery of software activities on time and within scopeParticipate in investigation activities and technology assessmentsPromote a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning within the teamParticipate in code reviews and architectural discussions to maintain code quality and best practicesEssential QualificationsBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and professional experience)Minimum 2+ years of relevant work experience in software engineering and developmentExperience of C/C++ programming with hands-on experience in production environmentsExperience of Linux operating systemsExperience of Python programming with experience in real-world projectsKnowledge of software development methodologies and best practices (e.g., Agile, Scrum, CI/CD)Awareness of the principles of version control systemsStrong communication and teamwork skillsExcellent organizational and time management skillsA willingness to develop new technical skillsDesirable QualificationsFamiliarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practicesAwareness of software architecture and design patternsAwareness of secure coding principlesDue to the nature of the work, candidates must be eligible for high-level security clearance and meet the following criteria:• UK national and British passport holder• Sole nationality• Minimum 5 years' UK residencyWhat We OfferCompetitive salary and benefits packageProfessional development and training opportunitiesCareer progression within a global technology companyAbout DXC TechnologyDXC Technology is a leading independent, end-to-end IT services company.
