The PMO Manager at an account level is responsible for establishing, leading, and optimizing the Project Management Office to ensure the effective delivery of strategic initiatives across the account. This role oversees project governance, reporting frameworks, and delivery standards to drive transparency, alignment, and consistent project outcomes. The PMO Manager partners closely with executives, project teams, and cross‐functional stakeholders to support prioritisation, resource planning, performance tracking, and continuous improvement of project management practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • PMO Leadership & Governance
    • Develop and maintain the account PMO strategy, operating model, and governance framework.
    • Establish project management standards, methodologies, templates, and best practices.
    • Ensure alignment of PMO processes with organisational goals, compliance requirements, and industry standards.
    • Conduct regular project audits and quality assurance reviews.
  • Portfolio & Program Management
    • Manage the account PMO, ensuring visibility of initiatives, dependencies, risks, and resource needs.
    • Guide prioritisation and sequencing of projects in collaboration with senior leadership.
    • Provide oversight to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
  • Reporting & Performance Management
    • Develop executive-level portfolio dashboards, KPIs, and performance reports.
    • Track project progress, financials, risks, and issues; ensure escalation paths are established and followed.
    • Analyse portfolio data and make recommendations to improve project outcomes and resource utilisation.
  • Team Management & Development
    • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of project managers, analysts, and coordinators across a matrix structure within the account.
    • Promote a culture of accountability, collaboration, and project delivery excellence.
    • Identify skill gaps and implement training and development initiatives.
  • Stakeholder Partnership & Communication
    • Serve as a strategic advisor to executives and key stakeholders on project and portfolio performance.
    • Facilitate steering committees and governance forums.
    • Strengthen communication across project teams to ensure alignment and effective decision-making.
  • Continuous Improvement
    • Evaluate and refine PMO processes, tools, and technologies to increase efficiency and scalability.
    • Champion process optimisation, change management, and continuous improvement initiatives across the account.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Management, IT, or related field.
  • Extensive experience in project/program management, including a strong background in managing a PMO or leading large programs within a BPO contract setting.
  • Proven knowledge of project management methodologies (Waterfall, Agile, hybrid).
  • Professional certifications such as ChPP, PMQ, MSP or PMO‐specific credentials preferred.
  • Strong leadership, analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience managing complex, cross‐functional projects in a matrixed environment.
