Junior Software Developer
Location: Farnborough, UK

About the Role
We are seeking a Software Developer to join our software engineering team at our Farnborough facility. This is a hands-on technical role where you will be part of a team of software engineers in the development of software products and solutions and conducting code reviews.
Key Responsibilities
- Working with a team of software engineers developing software, products and solutions and conducting code reviews.
- Ensuring the successful delivery of software activities on time and within scope
- Participate in investigation activities and technology assessments
- Promote a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning within the team
- Participate in code reviews and architectural discussions to maintain code quality and best practices
Essential Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and professional experience)
- Minimum 2+ years of relevant work experience in software engineering and development
- Experience of C/C++ programming with hands-on experience in production environments
- Experience of Linux operating systems
- Experience of Python programming with experience in real-world projects
- Knowledge of software development methodologies and best practices (e.g., Agile, Scrum, CI/CD)
- Awareness of the principles of version control systems
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- A willingness to develop new technical skills
Desirable Qualifications
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
- Awareness of software architecture and design patterns
- Awareness of secure coding principles
Due to the nature of the work, candidates must be eligible for high-level security clearance and meet the following criteria:
- UK national and British passport holder
- Sole nationality
- Minimum 5 years' UK residency
