Overview
At DXC Technology, we’re people first. We’re looking for a Desktop Support Engineer to support one of our clients on-site in Edinburgh. This is a full-time role (37.5-hour week, Monday – Friday). Overtime and on-call duties may be required. Due to the nature of our client\’s work, the successful candidate will need to be eligible to obtain SC Security Clearance.
Responsibilities
- Desktop / Laptop / VDI build, configuration and deployment to end users
- Software installation / deployment
- Asset and peripheral deployments
- In-depth investigation into issues to pass back to 3rd line support
- Assisting the 2nd Line support team with laptop, desktop and VDI terminals support calls
- Hardware installation / upgrade / break fix for desktop, laptop, and server
- Smartphone support (Android & iOS)
- VIP support
- Service Desk cover as required
- Assisting with customer projects
What We’re Looking For
- Microsoft Windows 7 and 10 Operating Systems – Deployment, configuration
- Support Microsoft Office 2010 onwards
- Proven and demonstrable software and hardware troubleshooting skills, experience in a Deskside Support role
- Knowledge of Microsoft SCCM and OS / Application deployment
- Good verbal communication: ability to communicate to all levels
- Good written communication: concise and accurate call logging, documentation, and email correspondence
- Good time management / organisational skills
- Work well as part of a team or independently
Desirable Skills / Qualifications
- Microsoft Windows 7/10 training and certification
- Legacy O/S
- Active Directory management
- Understanding of SCCM
- Exposure to Win11
- Exposure to Entra, Azure and ZScaler
- Understanding of McAfee EPO
