Senior IT, Procurement & Supply Chain Manager

Due to continued growth, DXC Technology has a great opportunity for an experienced Senior IT, Procurement and Supply Chain Manager. Successful candidates are required to be British Nationals with SC clearance or eligible for vetting.
Essential Job Functions
- Strategy and Planning: Contribute to the execution of procurement and supply chain strategies, with an emphasis on achieving specific departmental goals and targets. Manage the development, implementation, and execution of Technology Category Management functions and Category Strategy, including identifying key strategic sourcing requirements. The role also involves creating and overseeing the implementation of a strategy for vendor selection based on trends and business needs.
- Supplier and Vendor Management: Oversee routine procurement operations such as processing purchase orders, communicating with suppliers, and ensuring contract compliance. This includes managing relationships with hardware suppliers. The role requires increasing value from the supply base through innovative commercial models and managing the supplier base to leverage spending and influence while mitigating sourcing risks. The Manager is also responsible for establishing relationships with new suppliers and developing new supply sources.
- Negotiation and Procurement Activities: Plan and coordinate the procurement of materials, products, and services. Oversee procedures for and conduct highly complex negotiations with suppliers to obtain products at the best quantity and cost. This includes negotiating delivery, terms and conditions, and pricing. The role also involves soliciting suppliers for materials through formal RFx (Request for Information, Request for Proposal, etc.) processes.
- Cost Management and Analysis: Analyze supply chain processes to identify areas for improvement in efficiency and cost reduction. Monitor departmental budgets to optimize cost control and meet financial targets. The position is expected to consistently deliver substantial cost savings. The individual will also analyze highly complex bids for compliance, prices, and delivery commitments.
- Leadership and Collaboration: Lead a team of procurement professionals, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance evaluations. Act as the \”Face of Procurement\” for non-client requirements to internal stakeholders. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure procurement activities align with broader organizational objectives. Provide leadership and work guidance to less experienced personnel.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on industry trends, market dynamics, and regulatory changes affecting procurement and supply chain practices. The role involves recommending continuous improvements to guidelines or standards for vendor selection and implementing approved changes to FRS and RFP processes. The ideal candidate is a continuous learner who stays current with industry knowledge and technology.
Basic Qualifications
- A bachelor\’s degree in a relevant field or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A bachelor\’s degree in supply chain management or a related field is preferred.
- Extensive years of relevant work experience in the industry, with several years experience in a similar procurement and supply chain role.
- Proven experience in supply chain management and procurement practices.
- Proficiencies in vendor management, cost control, and procurement strategies.
- Experience working with contracts, including RFPs and RFIs.
- Experience working with supply chain and procurement software.
Other Qualifications
- Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong negotiating skills for vendor interaction.
- Good leadership skills to guide and mentor less experienced personnel.
- Ability to understand financial analysis and the implications of contracts and suppliers.
- Technical knowledge with End User Workspace technologies a plus.
- Familiarity with suppliers servicing public sector industries a plus.
- Relevant certifications in procurement or supply chain are a plus.
