Overall Purpose of Role

The role is to manage the transport administration by supporting the operation with all sub-contractor queries to ensure that the DX Service Centres are supported to deliver a service in line with Customer Service Level Agreements and Key Performance Indicators.

  • Main Responsibilities
  • Ensure all trunk vehicles from SCs to the central hubs and back to the SCs are available.
  • Publish details of driver changes / agency drivers to the operations team via the daily trunk update document.
  • Take responsibility for organizing additional vehicles as required.
  • Maintain contractor files ensuring all compliance documentation is current.
  • Manage cost by identifying areas of efficiency in the trunking network.
  • Encourage and promote positive employee relations throughout the operation, fostering a “Can Do” attitude.
  • Provide administrative assistance to aid the night operation.
  • Complete all reports accurately and ensure they are kept to strict timelines.
  • Perform administrative tasks during the day and provide high-quality proactive information for the night and day shifts so reporting is of a high standard and all sub-contractors are paid as per SLA.
  • Communicate with all SCs to ensure the Hub provides high-quality service and that they conform to company and customer SLAs each morning.
  • Capture information to supply back and aid revenue capture/protection.
  • Knowledge, Skills & Experience
  • Previous experience in transport is preferred.
  • Previous experience in the Mail or Distribution industry.
  • Understanding of DX products is preferred but not essential.
  • Ability to work on own initiative and be ideas-driven with the ability to formulate new methods to improve operation.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to produce concise reports.
  • Knowledge of the UK transport/road network preferred.
  • Ability to collate information to forward plan events on the road.
  • Proficient with Excel, Word, Outlook.

  • Able to make clear and sound decisions under pressure.
  • Flexible and positive toward operational changes.
  • Able to work on own initiative without supervision.
