The role of the Traffic Clerk is to provide administrative support for the traffic teams, ensuring the accurate flow of information throughout traffic and warehousing operations and escalating issues where they occur. The Traffic Clerk has extensive contact with external customers, answering queries and providing up-to-date delivery information.
Responsibilities
- Ensure all traffic and warehousing operations are undertaken in line with company operating procedures.
- Support the on‑road management of the traffic operation through communication and guidance.
- Ensure all required administrative tasks are completed in line with company requirements.
- Deal with customer/driver enquiries in a polite and effective manner.
- Ensure service level targets and KPIs are achieved by maximising fleet utilisation.
- Deal with and act on service complaints to ensure effective resolution for the customer and protect the company image and brand.
Qualifications
- High competence in Excel and general IT literacy.
- Knowledge of warehousing operations.
- Previous experience in traffic, warehousing or logistics operations.
- Good local geographical knowledge.
