Responsibilities
- Supervise the day-to-day operations on site including people management, warehousing, traffic and admin operations.
- Deputise for the Contract / Operations Manager where required.
- Supervise all aspects of the contracts service centre to achieve the contracts KPIs as set by the company and the customer; escalate issues where necessary.
- Plan and co-ordinate the incoming goods, storage and dispatch to achieve team objectives and KPIs.
- Ensure warehousing activities are undertaken in line with the Operations Manual and service centre working instructions.
- Plan resources to ensure operations are conducted in a cost-effective and efficient manner.
- Ensure vehicles are loaded and unloaded safely and within specified time limits.
- Ensure warehouse operatives complete loading and unloading documentation on time and in full.
- Ensure effective, safe, accurate and timely stock management, including space allocation, stock transfers and handling non-conforming product.
- Maintain the quality of the product and service within the warehouse to the highest possible standards for the customer.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in the logistics or distribution industry.
- Experience managing teams in fast-paced mail/distribution environments and the ambition to develop leadership skills.
