We are seeking a highly skilled Operations Project Leader to manage strategic initiatives focused on footprint optimization and acquisition integration in the EMEA region. This role is pivotal in aligning operations to support the company’s growth strategies, ensure seamless transitions during mergers and acquisitions, and drive cost-effective footprint rationalization across production facilities and supply chains. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience leading complex projects across multiple European countries, navigating cultural differences, and aligning diverse stakeholder groups to achieve business objectives. This position requires approximately 25-50% travel across EMEA supporting integrations, footprint optimization activities, stakeholder engagement and site leadership. The ideal candidate combines project management expertise, cross-functional leadership, and a strategic mindset to deliver measurable improvements in operational performance and integration success.
This role will preferably be based out of one of DwyerOmega’s locations in the UK, EU or Switzerland, but can potentially operate remotely within the EMEA region.
Key Responsibilities- Footprint optimization: Analyze and redesign operational footprints across facilities, supply chains, and distribution networks to maximize efficiency and reduce costs.
- Acquisition integration: Lead integration projects for newly acquired entities, including due diligence, transition planning, and execution of integration roadmaps.
- Cross-functional leadership: Partner with Finance, HR, IT, Engineering and Product Management to ensure smooth alignment of processes, systems, and culture.
- Project execution: Develop detailed project plans, manage timelines, budgets, and deliverables, ensuring projects are completed on schedule and within scope.
- Change management: Drive organizational change initiatives, ensuring stakeholder buy-in and adoption of new processes.
- Performance tracking: Establish KPIs and reporting mechanisms to measure success of footprint optimization and integration efforts.
- Cross-cultural leadership: Build strong relationships across diverse cultures, functions, and geographies, fostering collaboration and alignment during periods of significant organizational change.
- Risk management: Identify potential risks in integration and footprint projects, and develop mitigation strategies.
- Employee engagement: Lead consultation and communication activities associated with facility consolidations, relocations, restructurings and integrations, including engagement with Works Councils, Employee Representatives and Trade Unions.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with local labor laws, information and consultation requirements across EMEA.
- University level degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Manufacturing Engineering or related field.
- Five to eight years of experience in operations project management.
- Experience with acquisition integration, facility optimization or moving production lines.
- Proven track record of managing complex projects involving multiple stakeholders and geographies.
- Strong analytical skills with experience in footprint rationalization, supply chain optimization or operational restructuring.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to influence and collaborate across all levels of the organization.
- Project management certification (PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent) preferred.
- Demonstrated success leading complex multi-country projects across Europe.
- Proven cross-border and cross-cultural leadership capability.
- Experience leading facility consolidations, relocations, restructurings, production transfers, and integration activities.
- Practical experience engaging with Works Councils, Employee Representatives, and Trade Unions during organizational change initiatives.
- Strategic thinking: Ability to align operational initiatives with long-term business goals.
- Problem-solving: Skilled at identifying issues and risks and developing innovative solutions.
- Leadership: Capable of motivating cross-functional teams and driving accountability.
- Adaptability: Comfortable working in dynamic environments with shifting priorities.
