Responsibilities
You will work closely with the Café Manager and a senior cook to ensure the smooth operation of the café kitchen. Responsibilities include:
- Preparing, cooking and serving high‑quality meals to the standard set out in the procedures and in line with cost targets.
- Communicating effectively with all team members.
- Providing exceptional guest service.
- Ensuring all food safety procedures are followed and the kitchen is safe, sanitised and clean at all times.
- Demonstrating complete knowledge of all menus and food allergens.
- Supporting menu planning and events.
- Ordering stock to maintain adequate levels for service.
Qualifications
Essential Experience
- Experience working in a busy kitchen as a commis chef or cook.
Essential Knowledge & Skills
- Deliver high levels of customer service.
- Communicate effectively with customers and colleagues.
- Be organised and follow process.
Additional Requirements
- Must be able to work weekends and school holidays.
- Must be able to work 5 days a week in a flexible rota (possible hours between 8.30am – 6.00pm).
- Must undergo a satisfactory DBS check prior to the start date.
- Background checks, medical clearance and a criminal records basic disclosure check required.
