The predicted salary is between 31395 - 35682 £ per year.

This role is a Maintenance Technician that is electrically biased. You will be responsible for:

  • Maintaining, repairing and installing equipment as part of the main MEI teams, working individually or as part of a team.
  • Able to fault-find, rectify problems with electrical systems and all ancillary equipment.
  • Installing, maintaining and repairing electrical systems generally.
  • Demonstrating an ability to read, understand and work from electrical drawings.
  • Maintaining, repairing and installing mechanical, electrical and instrumentation to ensure performance of all assets.
  • Actively taking part in Risk Assessment, COSHH assessment and all related Health and Safety issues.
  • Identifying problematic plant and the subsequent faults and taking part in finding efficient solutions to return equipment to working order.
  • Identifying requirements of spares and materials using preferred suppliers.
  • Completing all job cards and timesheets to allow for monitoring of workload, performance etc.
  • Providing knowledge, information and onsite support for Welsh Water capital teams and operational teams.
  • Undertaking any other duties as required to meet the needs of the business.

About you:

  • Experience of working with pumps and variable speed drives.
  • Enthusiastic about putting our customers first every day.
  • Knowledge of industrial processes and of fixed and variable speed motor control.
  • Ability to read schematic diagrams and find and repair faults on electrical circuits.
  • Solution focused approach to resolving problems.
  • Ability to take responsibility, make decisions and use initiative, working proactively.
  • The ability to develop positive working relationships and to be seen as a highly credible representative of the team.
  • Compliance with current standards and legislation i.e. BS7671: 2018, 18th Edition IET regulations.
  • An excellent understanding of safe working practices and of planning and scheduling of work processes.
  • Communication and ability to influence others.
  • Working as part of a team.
  • Critical thinking to be able to analyse information and provide a solution to situations effectively.

Good to know:

  • There will be a requirement to participate in standby rota when sufficient training has been completed.
