What you’ll be responsible for:

  • Contributing to resolve potential or actual Distribution/Leakage issues to minimise inconvenience to the customer.
  • Demonstrating a keen willingness to constantly work as part of a team.
  • Achieving and maintaining the area leakage targets.
  • Reacting and working alongside all other departments during Silver & Gold incidents.
  • Ensuring that all GIS updates are submitted to GIS bureau to maintain high quality information.
  • Ensuring leakage targets are met using various techniques to reduce leakage.
  • Ensuring compliance with all company health and safety procedures, prioritising the safety of colleagues and customers.
  • Effective liaison with colleagues in the distribution team during normal work practice and in emergencies.
  • Entering correct details onto various IT systems daily.
  • Adhering to correct working practices on site in and out of hours.
  • Representing Welsh Water throughout the lifecycle of projects, assisting partners through project development, planning, approvals and statutory processes.
  • Dealing with difficult situations in a friendly and professional manner, striving for speedy resolution.
  • Making recommendations for network improvement.
  • Efficiently organising your own time, handling routine work with minimal supervision, assessing priorities and managing them.

Who you’ll work with:

  • Internal: Management Team within Welsh Water, Local Operational teams, Customer Services.
  • External: Members of the Public, Welsh Water Customers, Local government, Contractors.

About you:

  • A full UK drivers licence.
  • Experience of the water industry.
  • A good level of Network/Leakage experience.
  • The drive and ambition to provide a first-class service to customers.
  • Willingness to work alone and as part of a team when required.
  • The ability to build and maintain good networks with internal departments, company partners and contractors.
  • The ability to work to tight deadlines and in difficult circumstances while providing an unbiased service to customers.

Good to know:

  • A full UK Drivers licence is required for the role.
  • The successful candidate will participate in a standby rota.
  • A company vehicle will be provided.
