We are seeking interested applicants who have achieved a 2:2 or higher in a Structural or Structural & Civil combined, or Water Engineering related degree by September 2026 – that’s it! No prior experience needed.

Your Graduate Scheme:

You’ll be joining the Engineering Department as part of the Assets function that will provide engineering expertise across the Business including our major investment programme for AMP8 and beyond. The projects within the programme vary in scale and complexity, encompassing maintenance and improvement works on all of Welsh Water’s assets – dams, pipelines, treatment works, pumping stations, and other infrastructure throughout Wales.

Your role will include:

  • Providing support on projects to ensure they are designed safely, on time, within budget and to the desired quality, working closely with other Engineering team members and business stakeholders.
  • Completing engineering design activities to the appropriate DCWW standard specifications under close supervision of experienced Engineers to ensure the required level of quality.
  • Providing support on projects through a design assurance process of technical proposals and third‑party designs linked to the Build Quality Assurance Strategy.
  • Actively involving in NEC supervision, linked to the Build Quality Assurance Strategy.
  • Working with framework providers and the wider supply chain to deliver projects.

Recruitment process:

Adverts run until May 3rd 2026. Eligible applicants will receive a short assessment, followed by an in‑person assessment centre around June 2026 in North East Wales. A CV and cover letter are required.
