Responsibilities:

  • Operating sites in line with environmental permits to protect the environment; general maintenance of equipment and site, taking effluent samples to monitor and improve biological performance.
  • Identifying and undertaking reactive work as required; raising reactive work for equipment when needed and liaising with multi-discipline craft teams to facilitate repairs.
  • Identifying potential pollution risks from assets, taking measures to prevent pollution, and escalating when required.
  • Liaising and coordinating with the area supervisor and team members on operating activities and continuous improvement for the area.
  • Ensuring personal and colleagues' safety through compliance with company Health and Safety procedures.
  • Understanding and adhering to quality system requirements to ensure audit compliance.
  • Taking ownership of sites, ensuring housekeeping standards are maintained and defects reported.
  • Willing to develop and learn within the role and have the flexibility and competence to operate and maintain multiple sites.
  • Participating in arrangements and cover for annual leave and sickness for the area of operation.
  • Undertaking any other duties as required to meet the needs of the business.
  • Participating in out of hours standby rota.

Qualifications:

  • NVQ Level 2 or higher, BTEC, ONC/HNC qualification (desirable).
  • Demonstrable experience of compliance and adherence to Health & Safety standards.
  • Enthusiastic about putting customers first every day.
  • Awareness of regulatory bodies such as Environment Agency/NRW.
  • Computer systems literate.
  • Passionate about outdoor environment and protecting surroundings.
  • Team player, willing to take part in all necessary training requirements for the role.

  • Will have planned and unplanned work; working one in four weekend rota and some bank holidays expected to do a reasonable amount of overtime.
  • Company vehicle provided—covering the Vale of Glamorgan area.
