We are seeking interested applicants who have achieved or are expected to achieve Maths, Economics, Business Studies, Accounting or similar degree by September 2026 – that’s it! No prior experience needed.

Key skills / attributes that we’d be looking for from the successful candidate are:

  • Comfortable with working independently and as part of a team

There is a requirement for the successful candidate to complete professional Accounting qualifications as a part of the role. This is a 3 year graduate role.

Your role will include:

  • Developing an understanding of the nature and operations of Welsh Water through placement rotations across operational finance, regulatory finance and tax.
  • Working on a financial project as part of your final placement.
  • The structure of the rotation will provide understanding of the full financial calendar from budget setting through to year end disclosures.

Within the programme we will support the candidate working to completion of chartered status in their chosen body, ACA, ACCA or CIMA.

You will be encouraged to join professional bodies to hone your technical skills and optional project management qualifications.

Your graduate scheme will primarily be based in South-East Wales. However, on occasions and with notice you may be expected to travel to sites across the whole of Wales and its borders.

Recruitment process - Upon application, you will receive a short behavioural assessment to complete. This should take 15-20 minutes. Should your application meet our criteria, the second stage of assessment will be an in-person assessment centre, which likely take place at our head office (Cardiff) around June 2026. Further information will be provided closer to the time.
