This role offers a flexible base location, with regular travel required across South Wales to cover all geographical areas.

What you’ll be responsible for:

  • Support the delivery of projects spanning a range of value and complexity (typically <£10M), involving multidisciplinary teams and internal and external stakeholders.
  • Contribute to delivery outcomes across the project lifecycle within defined governance frameworks.
  • Focus on effective coordination and execution of projects, being accountable for the end-to-end delivery, ensuring completion in line with all statutory, regulatory, and financial outputs of the business plan.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support a best-in-class approach to Health, Safety, Wellbeing and Environmental stewardship across projects, ensuring compliance with the latest CDM Regulations and promoting a proactive, safe working culture for colleagues, partners and the public.
  • Support delivery across projects, contributing to effective planning, coordination, and delivery across multidisciplinary teams, aligning projects with wider business and asset strategies.
  • Fulfil the role of NEC Project Manager, ensuring contractual processes are followed, whilst ensuring high-quality contract administration, and driving timely execution of all contractual obligations ensuring collaboration, trust, risk management and programme acceptance.
  • Work closely with Commercial teams to ensure accurate forecasting, disciplined budget management, and optimisation of value for money across projects, with full accountability for financial performance.
  • Support the supply chain in a fair and collaborative manner, building trusted relationships with key stakeholders, including regulators, partners, and senior internal teams to resolve complex issues that may impact delivery.
  • Meet all standby obligations for the role, ensuring appropriate out-of-hours availability and management during emergency situations to safeguard service continuity.

  • The successful candidate will be required to participate in a standby rota.

Who you’ll work with:

  • Internal: Dam Safety, Operations, Water Resources, Production, Assets, Finance, Estates, Streetworks, Procurement, Health & Safety and Commercial Heads of Service / Senior Management.
  • External: Major Framework and Design & Build Contractors, Customers, Private Landowners, All Reservoir Panel Engineers, Regulators NRW / OFWAT / DWI / CCW, Local Authorities & other leading companies within the utility sector.

About you:

Essential Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

  • Qualifications: HND/foundation degree in related discipline (or equivalent experience), Professional Project Management qualification (APM or equivalent), Construction related qualification (NEBOSH / IOSH).
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years’ implementation of contractor management in line with all Construction Design Management (CDM) regulations, with demonstrated leadership across complex delivery environments. Minimum of 5 years’ knowledge, experience and implementation of NEC and other contract administration. Experience working with multi-disciplinary engineering, operations and asset management functions across complex projects with competing priorities.
  • Knowledge & Skills: Good knowledge of the UK water industry, including regulatory drivers, asset standards, and capital delivery processes. Strong contractor management, safety leadership, commercial oversight and performance management skills. Project management capabilities, including planning, controlling, and delivering capital projects across multidisciplinary teams against tight regulatory timelines. Effective communication and stakeholder management skills across technical, operational and commercial teams.
