Salary Range: £26,200 per annum (based on 37 hours / week)

What you’ll be responsible for:

  • You will work closely with the chef and café supervisor to ensure the smooth operation of the café kitchen.
  • In the chef's absence, you will oversee the running of the kitchen, ensuring the set high standards of food hygiene and professionalism are met, while consistently serving our visitors high quality food prepared and cooked onsite.
  • Preparing, cooking and serving high quality meals to the standard as set out in the procedures and in line with cost targets.
  • Communicating effectively with all team members.
  • Providing exceptional guest service.
  • Ensuring all food safety procedures are followed and adhered to, keeping the kitchen safe, sanitised and clean at all times.
  • Demonstrating complete knowledge of all menus and food allergens.
  • Supporting menu planning and events.
  • Supporting with the ordering of stock to ensure adequate stock levels are maintained for service.

About you:

  • Experience of working in a busy kitchen as a commis chef or cook role.
  • Able to deliver high levels of customer service.
  • Able to effectively communicate with customers and colleagues.
  • Able to be organised and follow process.

Good to know:

  • Working 5 days in 7 per week (rota agreed one month in advance).
  • 37 hours full‑time contract working annualised hours.
  • Must be able to work weekends and school holidays.
  • The role will be five days a week across a Monday‑Sunday rota with possible hours between 8.30 am – 6.00 pm (to cover a maximum of an 8‑hour working day).
  • Variety of shift patterns available, although candidates must be flexible to work weekdays and weekends.
  • Starting ASAP.
  • A satisfactory DBS check will be required prior to start date for all successful applicants.
